Introduction

Our client is a leading French company with more than 80 years of experience. Through their innovative techniques, they pioneered civil engineering methods and gained a strong reputation both nationally and internationally. As a global player in civil engineering, the company has built an undisputed reputation for delivering complex structures, high‑quality engineering works, and the renovation of vital infrastructure.

To further expand their activities in Belgium, we are looking for a driven Business Development Manager who will strategically map and develop the local market.

As a commercial pioneer, you will continue to write their story in Belgium.

Function

Objective: As a commercial pioneer, you will continue to shape their success story in Belgium. You serve as the first point of contact for clients and partners, translating the company’s impressive international expertise into local opportunities. You identify key projects, build long‑term relationships with decision‑makers, and firmly establish the company within the Belgian infrastructure market.

Your responsibilities:

  • Commercial development & client relationships (hunter): You are responsible for active prospecting and commercial acquisition to firmly position the company in Belgium. You identify commercial opportunities in the Belgian market and report directly to management in France.
  • Building strong and sustainable client relationships with contractors, site managers, industrial players, and private clients active in the construction industry.
  • Preparing and presenting distinctive technical and commercial proposals, in collaboration with the design, methods, and execution teams in France.

 

 

 

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Engineering degree (Civil, Industrial, or Construction) or equivalent through experience.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in business development, ideally in the construction or civil engineering sector.
  • Perfectly bilingual French / Dutch (essential), both spoken and written.

Technical and Commercial Skills

  • Professional expertise: Strong command of sales and negotiation techniques by phone and by email.
  • Network: Excellent knowledge of the local economic landscape and Belgian business culture (NL/FR). You have a solid general understanding of the building, civil engineering, and industrial sectors.
  • Management: Exemplary administrative rigor and meticulous follow-up of client files.

  • Proactivity: Solution‑oriented, you demonstrate a strong sense of customer service.
