Their extensive product range includes potting machines, pot presses and pressing lines, soil supply systems, seeders, transplanting robots, internal transport systems, and automated delivery lines. In recent years, industrial robots have also been integrated into various projects.

In addition to horticultural machinery, DEMAITERE has traditionally manufactured flax fiber processing machines. Years of experience, a customer-oriented approach, and reliable service have made DEMAITERE a well-established name in horticultural automation.

Lead Service Engineer

Function

Purpose of the role:

As a technical linchpin, you combine hands-on expertise with strategic and operational management.

Your responsibilities include:

1.       Technical Customer Management & Support

  • Point of contact: You act as the technical expert for customers.
  • Machine optimization: You support machine start-ups, ensure operational continuity, and improve machine performance at customer sites.
  • Interventions: You occasionally travel abroad for short periods to handle complex technical assignments.

2.      Coordination & Team Collaboration

  • Planning: You organize and closely follow up on service interventions.
  • Leadership: You manage a small team of colleagues and act as their technical coach.

3.      Spare Parts Management & Advisory Role

  • Spare parts policy: You manage inventory and the policy related to spare parts.
  • Advisory role: You advise customers on the correct spare parts to minimize global downtime.

4.      Strategic Growth

  • Business development: In the long term, you proactively contribute ideas on scaling the service organization and optimizing the business model.

Requirements

  • You hold a master’s degree in electromechanics, automation, or have an equivalent background through relevant work experience.µ
  • You are passionate about machine building.
  • You have experience with PLC environments and can read and understand electrical schematics.
  • You possess strong analytical skills and are able to maintain an overall view at all times.
  • You have good knowledge of mechanical design or are willing to further develop yourself in this area.
  • You communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders. You are diplomatic and communicatively strong, with the ability to professionally represent Demaitere to customers.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English; knowledge of French and/or German is a plus.
  • You are adaptable.
  • Committed and customer-oriented: You are highly communicative in the broadest sense; you switch quickly, follow up closely, and are customer-focused.
  • You are known as a persevering and proactive individual who takes initiative.
