Function
The purpose of this role is to lead production operations while continuously ensuring quality and safety. Initially, you will work in the afternoon through early evening. During the first six months, you will work with the night shift from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM. After that, you will be available for on-call duty in consultation with your colleagues. You will work closely with and report to the Plant Manager. Team Leaders will report to you.
In this varied position, you will primarily take responsibility for managing production and ensuring that all production activities run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You will supervise a team of approximately 30 employees per shift, spread across four production lines. You know how to motivate people, achieve results, and at the same time maintain a positive and safe working environment. Thanks to your coaching approach and organizational skills, you will successfully achieve targets and drive continuous improvement.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead and coach a team of approximately 30 production employees.
- Monitor and optimize the daily production process.
- Take responsibility for productivity, quality, and production continuity.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, hygiene, and food safety regulations.
- Monitor the correct use and maintenance of machines and equipment.
- Analyze and resolve production machine malfunctions, collaborating with the technical department on complex issues.
- Welcome, guide, and train new employees and temporary workers.
- Actively contribute to process improvements and optimization projects.
- Ensure clear shift handovers and accurate reporting. You will consult daily with your colleagues in planning and with the Plant Manager.
- Translate company policy into concrete actions on the production floor.
Requirements
- You have an analytical mindset and can maintain a clear overview of production processes.
- Your people management skills motivate your colleagues.
- You communicate fluently and professionally in both French and Dutch.
- Analyzing situations and planning are second nature to you in a work environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s level, or equivalent through experience. Experience in the food industry or food technology is an advantage.
- You are eager to learn and flexible.
- You can demonstrate work experience in which maintaining an overall perspective and following up matters in a structured way was a key responsibility.
